Three American Universities finished on top at the 3rd Annual Kasparov Chess Foundation University Cup which took place Saturday-Sunday, February 04-05, 2023.

116 teams participated in the tournament, which was streamed on https://chess.stream/KCF_University_Cup/standing. Garry Kasparov joined commentators Daniel Naroditsky and Kostya Kavutskiy and welcomed players and followers.

Texas Tech University scored 8 points and took gold, and University of Missouri – Mizzou (A) finished in 2nd place with 7.5 points. Saint Louis University scored 7 points and tied for the 3rd place with Universitas Brawijaya (Indonesia) but finished in third place due to a better tie-break.
Universitas Brawijaya became a top team with 2000-2199 rating and the top Asian Team, while the National Technical University of Athens finished in 5th place and became the top European team. University of Stellenbosch from Zambia became the top African team.
